Milestone Alert: Enable Power Systems completes VMX Switchgear commissioning at Royal Mint Street

Enable Power Systems is excited to announce the successful commissioning of the 11kV VMX switchgear at Royal Mint Street Substation for Docklands Light Railway (DLR).

This critical upgrade, designed to ensure uninterrupted service, optimise safety, and enhance maintenance efficiency, reflects our team’s dedication to delivering complex, high-stakes projects across London.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱:

• 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: 11kV HV Eclipse Switchgear with a 6-panel switchboard, a 110V battery charger, marshalling panel, and SCADA updates.

• 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀: Collaboration with London Underground due to their network feed at Embankment, where our team ensured network resilience through careful planning.

• 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: Four phased commissioning shifts covered primary protection testing, SCADA updates, HV cable testing, and energisation of key feeder cables – all with no service disruption to DLR customers.

Navigating central London’s logistical challenges, our team meticulously planned nighttime deliveries and engaged with key stakeholders to streamline operations.
